Mobility Management Programs
262-977-4441
The Mobility Management Programs of Washington and Ozaukee counties seek to engage in the actions needed to make a positive change in the present day and future of transportation for at-risk populations.
In alignment with recommendations in SEWRPC’s Public Transit Human Services Transportation Coordination Plan, the Mobility Management Programs of Washington and Ozaukee counties coordinate efforts of communication, information sharing, and planning to most effectively use existing transportation services to meet the needs of seniors,
adults with disabilities and people with low incomes and brings innovative new practices to the community.
Mobility Managers assist at-risk populations in overcoming transportation barriers by empowering individuals with information to use public transit and specialized transportation, increasing collaboration between transportation providers to provide more comprehensive service, developing solutions, and engaging seniors, adults with disabilities and people with low incomes as advocates in the effort to improve transportation.

Washington County Residents
Service Priorities
Low-income, seniors or persons with disabilities
The MMP strives to fill the gaps in transportation services when there are no options. Call if you are struggling to see how we can help.
Food Delivery –The MMP coordinates volunteers from the ADRC and Kettlebrook Church in collaboration with the Full Shelf Food Pantry to deliver groceries. Individuals who do not have a way to get to the food pantry or whose physical disability makes it impossible to get groceries into their home may call in for a monthly supply of groceries. And in collaboration with area clinics and hospitals and non-profits, individuals released from a hospital stay or quarantined may request delivery as well.
Pilot-Cross-County medical transportation– As identified in the 2019 survey, The MMP created a pilot program in collaboration with the County, Interfaith Caregivers, and a private transportation provider to provide discounted cross-county transportation to medical appointments. A wheelchair-accessible trip to the Medical College of WI in Wauwatosa can run as high as $280. The MMP will make you aware of existing programs and work with you when no resource is available.
Transportation Call-in Services – We are a source of education for those who have recently stopped driving and do not know about our county’s numerous resources. Call 262-977-4441 to get to know your community’s resources.
Educate our Community
In 2019 in collaboration with the Coordinated Transportation Committee of Washington County, we surveyed the community to identify transportation needs.
- 324 Respondents do not drive
- 81% say they are prevented from doing chores or activities because they are unable to drive
- 78% feel dependent on others
- 44% do not have friends or family to drive them regularly
- 33% identified that they struggle to cross county lines
- 23% utilize the food pantry. Public transportation cannot accommodate these individuals because the quantity of food given exceeds the number of parcels allowed to keep travel safe.
Call to schedule a presentation of transportation options to your organization or living facility. 262-977-4441
The MMP continues to identify and rally to solve other medical and employment transportation needs that are unaffordable or do not exist at the times needed. Being educated about your struggles helps us to understand challenges better. Would you mind calling to get help so we can document community needs? Are you a business owner who would like to collaborate?
Please give us a call. 262-977-4441

Ozaukee County Shared Ride taxi is partnering with Washington County Shared Ride Taxi to provide non-stop taxi service between the two counties. The one-year pilot program is scheduled to begin on April 12, 2021. This is a door-to-door shared ride taxi service. Passengers will be able to travel from any address in Ozaukee County to any address in Washington County, and back again without needing to transfer at the county line. Both counties are able to provide specialized service to riders with mobility issues or disabilities on request.
How it works
Passengers will need to call ahead to reserve a ride, just like the current Shared Ride Taxi Service. Each trip is a one-way reservation. Call Ozaukee Shared Ride Taxi for trips from Ozaukee County and Washington Shared Ride Taxi for trips from Washington County. While in transit, drivers and dispatchers will be communicating to make sure you get where you need to go.
Fares
There is a $5.75 surcharge for ride that cross the county line.
